The Walk for Monash Children’s Hospital is located at the beautiful Jells Park, Wheelers Hill, near Jells Lake and Madeline’s at Jells cafe.


Online registrations come at a standard $5 discounted rate. Save even more with our Early Bird rates by registering before midnight December 31, 2018. To make the most of your event experience, we suggest registering online before the event. However if this option is not possible for you, limited registrations are available on the day from 8am


Parking in the main car park at the North Entrance off Waverley Road will provide the easiest access to the event but there is additional parking located nearby. Disabled parking is available at Madeline's cafe.

Event times

Registrations will open from 8am at Jells Park. We suggest you arrive at least one hour before the start of your event to allow time to park, collect your bib, t-shirt (if you raised over $50) and enjoy the entertainment.

Everyone who has raised $50 or more (as an individual) can collect their free MCH t-shirts on the day, from 8am.  

Walk/run start times:

  • 1km: 9.45am
  • 10km: 10.20am
  • 5km: 10.50am

The event will conclude at 2.00pm

If you are running in any of these categories it would be greatly appreciated if you were able to make your way to the front of the line before the event starts. This is a non-competitive event and we will not be timing this event.

Amenities & food

Water filling stations will be located near the event precinct. There are porta-loo facilities, including disabled, located near the event precinct. The event is also wheel chair accessible with a sand track footpath around the park. 

Dogs are allowed in Jells Park, except in the conservation area at the rear of the lake and other signposted bushland areas. Please consider the safety and enjoyment of other park users and wildlife by ensuring that your dog is restrained on a lead at all times. 

Foodtrucks will sell coffee and various yummy foods. 
Rotary will provide a BBQ with all their profits supporting Monash Children's Hospital. 

Eftpos and cash will be accepted at all stalls. 

Event activities  

There will be live entertainment starting from 8.30am and includes:

  • Games with Playball Monash - providing specialised fun sports coaching sessions to children helping to build self confidence & life skills.
  • Animal Farm
  • Starlight Foundation - providing entertainment and free activities.
  • Vintage cars on display
  • Teddy Bear Hospital – bring your toy teddy along to recieve some TLC and learn about health care environments and medical treatments in a fun and interactive way.
  • Firetruck on display 
  • Free Massages
  • Radio Lollipop

We will have merchandise available for purchase on the day:

  • MCH Caps
  • Walk for MCH T-shirts (Free when you raise $50 or more)
  • Sun-screen
